For 250 years, America has been a nation of possibilities—a place where people with an idea, ambition and perseverance have had the freedom to build something better.
Some became household names. Many more did not. But together, America’s entrepreneurs, inventors and innovators transformed agriculture, transportation, medicine, communications, manufacturing, entertainment and nearly every other aspect of the world we live in today.
To celebrate America’s 250th birthday, Gratitude for America is launching 250 for 250: 250 stories of the remarkable Americans whose ideas changed our lives.
Beginning later in 2026, we plan to publish one new story each day until all 250 have been told.. Their stories will explore not only what they created, but the problems they saw, the risks they took, the failures they overcame and the impact their innovations continue to have on our lives.
Our goal is threefold: to inform, to inspire gratitude and to spark entrepreneurship.
Because these stories are also the story of America—a nation built on individual freedom, private property, free markets and the opportunity to turn an idea into something of value.
We hope that understanding what these 250 Americans built—and the system that gave them the freedom to build it—will inspire the people who will create what comes next.
